Yesterday evening, our colleagues at The Reference organized a very enjoyable housewarming party to celebrate the recent company move to Stapelplein. New CEO, new offices, new exciting projects in the pipeline (stay tuned, more info very soon): here comes The Reference 2.0.

Every year in its January issue, Smart Business magazine selects the 30 “smartest” e-business projects that have been deployed on the Belgian market over the last 12 months. This year, we had the surprise to discover that three projects from the Emakina Group have received awards from Smart Business: Trifinance (The Reference), Swift Community (Emakina) and Brussels Airlines.com (Emakina). As part of our new collaboration with Casterman-Flammarion, our creative team has designed the Nina Tonnerre weblog (or “Nina Thunder” in English), a new French comic strip series whose first volume is available today (very good gift idea if your kid is aged between 11 and 13, by the way). Check out the interactive feature that lets you trick your friends by asking Nina to repaint a blog or a website with her paintball gun (example on the weblog of groupe Reflect).

After a break of several months, our Emakina Academies are back in town. This time, we invite you to join an in-depth presentation of Microsoft Office Sharepoint Server 2007, the Microsoft platform that already helps thousands of companies to facilitate collaboration, provide efficient content management features, implement business processes and supply easy access to critical information. All the practical details are available on the Events page of our website (registration is free but mandatory).

Two major innovations that deserve to be highlighted:

• With the support of The Reference, each Academy we organize in Brussels will be also held in Ghent with the same theme, the same agenda and (hopefully) the same speakers. For this 9th edition, you have therefore the choice between two locations: Brussels on 30th January or Ghent on 14th March.
• This 9th Academy marks another milestone as it’s the very first event co-branded by three agencies from the Emakina Group network : Emakina, The Reference and groupe Reflect. So, if you’re not familiar with the SharePoint environment, no doubt this Academy is a unique occasion to learn more about it through business cases and “best practices” deployed at a European level.
