We already explained on this blog how cool it is to work at Emakina. Not only because of the offices or because of the people, but also because of the worker-friendly environment providing basic facilities (banks, supermarkets…) as well as nice leisure places to hang out (parks, bars, restaurants…). This Google map, created and updated by Emakinians themselves, shows the numerous cool locations around our Brussels headquarters. Microsoft has the Redmond campus. Google has the Googleplex in Moutain View. We have the Watermael-Boitsfort neighborhood ;-).

Well, it’s raining awards at Emakina…

- Aside of our nomination for “I Need To Go” (don’t forget to vote for Madame Pipi!), the Webby Awards have also selected our agency as “Official Honoree” in the “Fashion” and “Best Use of Video and Moving Image” categories. Both distinctions go to the European website of fashion brand Wrangler whose Fall/Winter 2007 collection made a very impressive use of 360° video to present the new outfits in every aspect.

- We’ve also got this week a “Best in Class” (highest distinction) in the B2B category at the Interactive Media Awards. Once again, the winner is Join2Grow, our social networking platform designed for banking institution Fortis. This innovative, pioneering project receives here a 5th significant recognition since its official launch in February 2007.

Every year in April, the Rewics (Rencontres wallonnes de l’Internet citoyen) are a key event for all the actors of the social economy in the French-speaking part of Belgium. Join us today at 11.00 in the panel about digital identity, reputation management and the application of these concepts to the non profit sector.

As part of the global redesign of the Proximus Generation website, we released last week the new version of the Proximus moblog platform. A new amazing feature to be tested out: transform instantly your moblog into a full-screen slideshow that displays your pictures in an immersive 3D environment. Download the PicLens plug-in for your browser and check out this example from a Proximus customer who enabled this functionality on his personal moblog (just click on the arrow that appears on the picture when you pass your mouse over).

Well, it seems that April is Madame Pipi’s month. After winning a IAC award for “I Need To Go”, we’ve been warned this week that this campaign has been nominated by the Webby Awards, probably the most prestigious award competition in the Internet world.

Our colleagues of The Reference have released this week the new website of KBC. Ambitious objective: setting new standards in e-banking websites by focusing on the only opinion that really matters, the end customer’s one. During two years of intensive work, a special effort has been put in improving usability and user exprerience through an extensive research process that included a.o. sector benchmarks, visitor scenarios, interviews conducted with several user groups, eye-tracking on customers panels and definition of KPI that will measure the success of this new website in the future. Our already world-famous I Need To Go has been selected by ours friends of Culture Buzz for the very first Viral Film Festival, a new section of the BE FILM Underground Festival that will be held this month in New York City.
