Author: Augustin Bucaille

In the middle of November, Lausanne Public Transport launched a new website redesigned to meet new technological developments as well as the increasing use of mobile and tablets, which now represent over 80% of Swiss users.

To meet these new demands, Lausanne Public Transport entrusted the Emakina agency and Neurones Technologies in the beginning of 2014, to develop a new interface to enrich an increasingly customer-oriented relationship with digital media.

This new communications strategy is part of a long-term program to continuously improve the quality of services offered to travelers.

In the five countries where Emakina is directly present, including Switzerland, the Agency works with a carefully selected network of local partners. Neurones Technologies has had a long history with Emakina. They have shared their Geneva offices since 2009, and part of their Geneva employees are former PHP / Java developers of Emakina Switzerland (formerly LABEL.ch).

Emakina created a joint project team with Neurones Technologies, who had previously collaborated with Swiss public transport companies such as TPF in Fribourg and TPG in Geneva.

In meeting the client’s objectives, Emakina and Neurones Technologies created interfaces that were ergonomic, modern and “responsive.” They automatically adapt to all screens: mobile, desktop, laptop and TV. The new tl site is also adapted to people with reduced mobility, visually impaired and blind. What’s more, the innovative design of the platform is in line with current trends and also incorporates external services. These services include schedules in real-time and itinerary searches as well as theoretical schedules by lines and stops.

The redesigned site makes it easy to access the various tl transport offers and services for clients, new inhabitants of the Lausanne metropolitan area and tourists. Further benefits of the handy new site are the promotion of the brand, easier recruitment of new staff and a stronger image of the company. This image was initiated in May 2013 with a new Lausanne Public Transport brand.

Finally, the platform is reinforced by new features such as complete integration of mobile tl live as well as promotional tools to make interaction with social media and the sharing of content with friends easier.
