Emakina helps digital relaunch from iDBUS to OUIBUS
iDBUS, SNCF’s fast-growing European coach line, announced it changes its name to OUIBUS. The innovative international travel service also launches a new house style and adds 170 destinations to its French offer.
For the online rollout of this whole new chapter the leading coach company partnered once more with Emakina. The fully updated website now also includes an interactive map, for fast and fluent destination searches.
New name, new branding
All iDBUS’ current online communication had to be adapted to the completely new branding guidelines. Not a small task for Emakina, as www.ouibus.com offers content in 6 languages. All data was tracked and updated to respect the new OUIBUS branding, and the new logo and design were added. Emakina also created a series of online banners and a freshly designed newsletter, to share OUIBUS updates, special offers and promotions with the public.
170 new destinations
To respond to the liberalization of the French coach market, SNCF added 170 new OUIBUS destinations in the country. The interactive map on the website is a perfect tool to visualize all trajectories and introduce the many new destinations. Visitors quickly search and select data. In a matter of seconds you’re ready to book online, using the booking form (that was also improved).
It was a big challenge to intelligently adapt thousands of content links, and add so many new OUIBUS destinations, with all correct references. This results in ‘busloads’ of new relevant information, connected to the massive expansion of the portfolio.
Behind the scenes
Emakina’s people also had a field day with behind-the-screen operations. Projects included information architecture, navigation optimization, user testing, SEO to position the new brand name and added destinations, and even new server deployment, to manage growing online traffic.
Digital partners since 2012
Since its launch in 2012, Emakina has assisted iDBUS as preferred digital partner. Guiding the brand through its startup, the creation of a first website and the integration of the booking engine, the team helped to make the transport partner’s online presence ‘stick’. New digital tools and award winning online campaigns followed, leading to fast growth in online sales.
The summer workload for the project was impressive. To prepare and follow up all necessary steps, Scrum methodology was used. This resulted in daily contacts, weekly status updates, 15-day sprints with two-day demo meetings at the client’s Paris office, and in the end all bases were covered efficiently.
Brice Le Blévennec, CEO of Emakina: ‘Over the last months, the digital experts at iDBUS and our dedicated team once again worked together closely, to prepare the new chapter in this success story. In a short and intense period, they successfully managed this complex project together, like clockwork. I’m proud of the trust and mutual appreciation that reigns in this united team!’
