Emakina.BE Welcomes 3 New Talents

Author: Thomas Halter

Emakina.BE is glad to welcome three new talents! Want to meet them? Here they are!

Rachel, Kevin & Anna.

Anna Boroshok, Digital Strategist

Anna joins as a Digital Strategist in our Digital Marketing team. Digital marketing has been Anna’s passion (obsession!?) for over 7 years and, while she insists she is NOT a nerd, she gets overly excited by the prospect of a new marketing funnel.

Anna’s digital journey started at Google in Ireland, where she worked for 4 years as an AM with large accounts (portfolio of 1.5 mln/Q). She then moved to Belgium to work with smaller companies and startups as a Digital Traffic Manager and a Strategist (working with budgets as low as 5 EUR/day).

Spurred on by wanderlust, Anna has lived in 8 countries and visited 32. She believes in empowering women and helping them to shine, has volunteered at Digital Leadership Institute and trained girls in Digital Marketing.

Guilty pleasure: Embarrassing slow traffic with Kenzo ad-like in-car dancing
Spirit animal: Gizmo gremlin (cute and fluffy until touched from wrong side)
Worst fashion moment: Hair dyed in red and blond stripes, leather cap, short skirt and fluffy shoes (to school!)
Dead celebrity crush: Stoic Arthur Balfour for his quote “Nothing matters very much, and few things matter at all” (profoundly helpful in times of anxiety).

Kevin Van den Bosch, Client Service Director

Kevin has done a triple-front-flip high dive into our talent pool. As Client Service Director, he brings over a decade of customer-centric management experience, leading a string of intense client collaborations. At Emakina, he is continuing on that road, focusing on teamwork and delivering high added value.

Kevin is something of a whizz in digital models, including search engine, email and affiliate marketing, display, loyalty, pricing comparison and cross-media campaigns. He enjoys presenting at conferences and is a guest lecturer in the post-graduate course on digital marketing at PXL Hasselt.

Before joining our family, Kevin worked as MD Belgium for Groupon, connecting local commerce with consumers, and building the global brand in the market. Besides this role, he gained experience in sales and client services at IgnitionOne, boosting their cloud-based marketing platform as EU Client Service Director and Sales Director BE. At Tradedoubler, he managed content and performance marketing projects, and handled the pan-European affiliate accounts for Nike, KLM & Air France. He is a proud dad of two and loves the city of Florence for its culture, climate, Italian food and wine!

‘I’m impressed by (Emakina’s) passionate and open culture. The agency has the power to accompany its clients across their entire digital transformation.’

Guilty pleasure: Old-aged rum (preferably Cuban) and scuba diving
Spirit animal: Wolf
Worst fashion moment: 90’s dance scene attire (wide pipe jeans, adidas jacket, mandatory baseball cap)
(Not so dead) celebrity crushes: Tiffani Thiesen & Mila Kunis

Rachel Thomas: Creative Copywriter

After being asked to write the posts for this newsletter, Rachel wasn’t going to pass up the opportunity to make herself sound like the best thing that ever hit the planet. She is a red-carpet regular who received the Nobel Prize for Literature and has been tirelessly pursued by Brad Pitt.

Back in the real world, Rachel has been writing for Emakina for 13 years as a freelancer, before finally joining us full-time – based in her office in the British countryside.  She loves using words to create brand worlds and capture imaginations with concepts, stories, scripts, websites and tone of voice.

Rachel’s previous clients have included American Express, Virgin Holidays, British Airways, Shell, Jo Malone, Arup, Boodles, The Sunday Telegraph, Unilever and Knight Frank.

‘Of all the agencies I’ve collaborated with, I have found Emakina to be the most consistently impressive for its strategy, creativity and technical prowess’.

Classical music, books and poetry keep Rachel sane(ish) and she is ever thankful to be able to write for a living.

Guilty pleasure: Chocolate for breakfast, prosecco for dinner
Spirit animal: Black cat
Worst fashion moment: Corset and dungarees with Dr Martens boots
Dead celebrity crush: Jack Kerouac
