Emakinarea

Wednesday, April 30th, 2008

We already explained on this blog how cool it is to work at Emakina. Not only because of the offices or because of the people, but also because of the worker-friendly environment providing basic facilities (banks, supermarkets…) as well as nice leisure places to hang out (parks, bars, restaurants…). This Google map, created and updated by Emakinians themselves, shows the numerous cool locations around our Brussels headquarters. Microsoft has the Redmond campus. Google has the Googleplex in Moutain View. We have the Watermael-Boitsfort neighborhood ;-).

… and our bet on the Belgian government is de facto over, 9 days before the ultimate deadline. The winner is Baudouin Van Humbeeck (aka Somebaudy in the Belgian blogosphere) who will receive a basket of Belgian beers offered by our agency. Our congrats to this specialist of the blue orange and our special thanks to all the participants who placed a bet over the last… 91 days.

A new Belgian Government within the next 100 days… Gottabet?

Wednesday, September 26th, 2007

You’ve maybe noticed that, since more than 100 days, the current Belgian government is dealing with everyday matters only. So far, the attempts to form a new political coalition have failed. At Emakina, we’re optimistic people and we bet that Belgium will have eventually a new federal government within the next 100 days. Our bet on Gottabet.com (now Bragster.com) will run during 100 days (of course), unless a political deal is reached in the mean time. Once the bet is closed, a winner will be drawn by lot among the players who have guessed the right answer. He or she will get a free pack of Belgian beers carefully selected by our experts. As we’re superstitious people too, there will be no “Mort Subite” (”Sudden Death”) in the basket.

Check out this here to participate to our top topical.

An Interactive Guide to Springfield

Thursday, August 23rd, 2007

If you’re familiar with The Simpsons universe, you probably know this illustrious family lives in the small town of Springfield, located somewhere in the United States. Two fans of the TV series have watched each episode carefully to built an accurate mapping of this imaginary place. Thanks to our designer Adrien Noterdaem, there’s now a Flash-based version that makes the map searchable without any loss of resolution. Check out the result here, it’s really amazing (and already famous in Spain).

By the way, go and see the Simpsons Movie in a theater near you. If you’re an addict of the TV show like us, you will have a lot of fun with the feature-length film.
