Well, every day comes with another good news for Quitters Arcade. Yesterday evening, we were informed this viral campaign was shortlisted by the Webby Awards, aka the the “Oscars of the Internet”, aka the most prestigious distinction in the Internet world. You can imagine how happy we are to be nominated for the second year in a row after the very first Webby we received for “I Need To Go” twelve months ago.
The public voting is now open and we need your help to win the People Voice’s Award. Go to the dedicated website, register and vote for Quitters Arcade under the “Pharmaceuticals” category. Last but not least: tell it to the world before April 30. Like a famous figure would say: “Yes we can!”
Our viral campaign Quitters Arcade for Pfizer has won the Outstanding Achievement Award in the ‘Healthcare’ category at the American Interactive Media Awards. After two IAC Awards last month, this is already the third international distinction attributed to this project in 2009.
The Méribel Advertising Festival organizes this year a viral film contest under the theme of moutain and communication. Merry Belle, produced by the April First team at Emakina, was shortlisted by the jury. Check out the other nominees on Dailymotion.
Spore is the new game from Will Wright, the father of the famous Sims (I’m sure you played the Sims at least once in your life). To make it short, Spore puts you in the position of God: like a demiurge, you can create and nurture a creature through different stages of evolution (cell, creature, tribe, civilization…), from microscopic to macroscopic.
As Spore is about to hit the Belgian market next week, Electronic Arts entrusted us to promote this major release with a viral campaign in social media that could trigger the curiosity of Belgian gamers and “creative” people. The video below was made with the “stop motion” technique: we assembled frame by frame the pictures of the same creature standing in a different posture. In addition to the files on Dailymotion or YouTube, you can also watch this animation full screen on www.sporevolution.be.
In real life, grafer Olivier (codename “2shy”) painted the creature on a wall located along the Brussels-Charleroi canal, not far from the… Spoorwegstraat. If you happen to hang out in the neighborhood, you can still admire this art performance “live” at this place:
