W3 Awards: Emakina Wins 2 ‘Best in Show’ and 1 ‘Gold’
The AIVA (Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts) announced the winners of its 12th annual W3 Awards. Emakina scores very well in this select club, with 17 honours in total, reaping one Gold and two ‘Best in Show’ awards. Out of over 5,000 entries from across the world, the W3 Awards picked the best projects in websites, web marketing, video, mobile and social content.
Emakina wins 2 of the 24 ‘Best in Show’ global website awards
Emakina’s first major award goes to luxury shoe brand Floris van Bommel. The online shop receives the highest distinction notes for its fluent user experience and personal fashion touch.
This high honour is also awarded to the wonderful Parrot website. The online store for the new technology leader won ‘Distinction’ prizes for its exceptional visual appeal, and user experience.
Parrot’s slogan is ‘Life. Elevated. Your connected experiences.’ This is mirrored across every page, with dynamic shopping journeys for drones and mini drones, and refreshing discoveries in Parrot’s rich ranges in audio, connected gardening, car kits and business solutions.
Multiple distinction Awards
Philip Morris International’s corporate website, www.pmi.com, won 3 awards of distinction. The jury was impressed by its rich user experience, excellence in copywriting, and striking visual appeal. This website, created with Progress Sitefinity CMS, is an important tool that communicates the company’s global ambition of ‘Designing a Smoke-Free Future’.
Emakina’s client Segway harvested 4 website ‘Distinction’ awards. Besides honours in the ‘Automotive’ category, the AIVA jury praised its branding, user experience and visual appeal.
In the world of fashion e-commerce, Emakina won extra’Distinction’ awards for McGregor, in the categories ‘Fashion’ and User Experience’. Wolford, a top brand in hosiery, leggings, bodysuits, lingerie, and clothing, won in the same categories, and adds a third award for its remarkable visual appeal.
Raising the bar

The 750 AIVA members judge the W3 Awards entries. It is an invitation-only body, consisting of top-tier professionals from a “Who’s Who” of acclaimed media, advertising, and marketing firms.
